Crimea was annexed by Russia in 2014. At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia will intensify attacks ahead of the council meeting on Ukraine’s inclusion in the European Union. European Union leaders are expected to support Ukraine’s membership at the summit later this week.

The military head of Luhansk has warned of a Russian attack on the city of Severodonetsk. Serhi Heyde said on Monday that the Russian military had enough weapons to launch a large-scale attack on the city. Heyde said that the Russians have deployed heavy military equipment around the area.

Fighting is currently going on in the industrial area, but most of the city is occupied by Russian forces. Now the Ukrainian military is controlling only the Industrial Area and the area of ​​the Azot Plant.
